Update on health, life and other things rambling round my head

Hi, told you that I am one of the worst bloggers! Well the cancer was 100% cured thanks to all the doctors in New Orleans!!! Last week marked 3 months recfovery which means the liver resection they did should have grown back 100%. I discovered I had hernia's on my C5,6 & 7 in my neck. (probably too much talking in my life and looking the other direction) I had an operation last Monday and they removed them and replaced my bone with bonegraft, a steel plate and screws to hold my neck together. When they do this they retracted your throat to one side or the other to work on it and the result is the first 7 days you feel like you have a permanent lump in your throat. fun fun ... I will be wearing this fashionable fabric brace that they gave me for 4 full weeks. It's ivory so it will go with nothing I have, so I might need to improvise on the look a little. Any ideas? Well otherwise, life is great in the Smith household, my hubby is a rock (he needs a good massage), our youngest son Mark married Tasha (the love of his life)and David moved back in and is now working with his dad. David went to Panama for two weeks with Mark on a business trip and I think he is starting to like this flying thing because he has all ready went to MN on his own now voluntered to go to Italy!! Ah to be young again. Mark and Tasha are shopping for an SUV (because more grandbabies are in my future), two or three years down the road. With any hope, Mark will be able to gain rights to see his first child soon. We miss him so much and have so much love to share. Well life is good and God is great so y'all take care and have a glass of sweet tea for me, hugs, Cyn

Such a bad blogger

I am such a bad blogger, random entries at best are all that I can accomplish. Today we left home and drove 3.5 hours to Red Bluff Cottage in Montgomery Alabama. We got in at about 3 pm, our host Barry and his lovely wife Bonnie showed us our rooms and the grounds. This place is a dream. Our room is decorated in early 20's ragalia! My mom is in the adjoining room and her room has a steamer trunk filled with all kinds of goodies for children to dress up with while on vacation. Mom tried on a few things and a few pics later we ran off for some supper. Sincliars, it was wonderful, mom and I shared the Beet & Blue salad and a Ham and Cheese on Puff Pastry. Yummm-o!! Then to top it off we sampled the Brown Betty which is a blueberry cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream. Mark had the ribeye and a hot fudge brownie for dessert. A definite must eat at place when traveling through Montgomery. We retired to the front porch swing and enjoyed the sunset colors of blue, purple and pink. I'm getting anxious about my surgery and will now retired to bed and dream of better days, but today was definitely one of those worth remembering. Happy 25th Birthday to my baby boy Mark. I love y'all!!!Goodnight, Cyn

Tuesday's post

Blah............I could not get up today I have my days and nights turned around right now. Oh well. Today I went to my bank to refinance my Buick to a lower interest rate 5.5%!! Deposited money in my account and went out to lunch with my neighbor Vickie and her daughter Bekah. Stopped at Pizza Hut for dinner, thought we would try their new Tuscani Pasta with Meat Sauce and it was great!! I highly recommend this if you have not tried it yet. Yumm-O!!! $10.75 with breaksticks not bad and this could easily feed a family of four, so we do have left-overs. I update my LinkedIn account and sent out new invitations to my friends to see if they want to join. LinkedIn is a great place for professional growth through networking. The Melting Pot

Today I woke up in pain from my liver........again. I got out of bed and made myself some pop-tarts (I know not healthy, execpt for the strawberry part) and a small glass of milk, a pain pill and watched some pre-recorded Oprah and Dr. Phil then went back to bed. Woke up about 12:30pm and decided it was time to face the day. Mark's birthday gift arrived today via UPS. I found him some shoes with mini shock absorbers in the heels since he is on his feet 8+ hrs a day I thought it would be the best gift I could give at this time. The boys went in 3rds with me since they cost $100.00 on sale!!!We aslo found a piece for his grill (The Big Green Egg), you place two cans of beer in this tray and then invert two chickens and roast on grill. It is supposed to be delish, we'll see. I also sent off for an autographed photo of Charlie Sheen off of Two & a Half Men for him. He loves the Charlie Harper philosophy and swears that would have been had I not came along. lol He loves the vintage style shirts Charlie wears, if you know where I can find the good quality ones like on the set let me know, I'm on the lookout for next years gift already!!! My freind Nancy is coming to take me to The Melting Pot tonight. They are having a girls night out celebration and she is the only one of my friends available to go. Springtime is always hectic with proms, graduations and such....I know we'll have a great time she is so funny always making me smile!

Carcenoid Cancer is Killing my Liver

Good morning,

Insomnia has taken over and I'm blogging into the night. This weekend was a good one for a change. Saturday the boys and Tasha took Mark and I to The Spaghetti Warehouse in Marietta, Georgia to celebrate Mark's upcoming birthday. This was Mark and my 1st visit to this restaurant. I tried the spaghetti combo with 1/2 Mushroom & Butter Sauce and 1/2 Italian Sausage with red sauce. This was yumm-o it left me wanting more of the Mushroom type for sure. Mark being the carnevore that he is opted for the Spaghetti Combo with 1/2 Beer Chili & 1/2 Red Sauce with Meatballs. He said it was wonderful as well. We ate, told jokes, laughed and had a great time. Tasha took some pics of us and I'll post one below! Then Sunday Mark and I rode out to Braselton, to visit with Rob and Karen two former neighbors who have relocated. They have two little boys Nick and Ben and they loved Mark's new Mustang. We put them in the back seat and off they went for a ride while Karen and I visited.
